Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Cook 16 ounces of penne pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and flour, sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth. Stir in mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded Swiss cheese until melted.
- Evenly sprinkle cooked chicken over the pasta, then add chopped ham on top.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the chicken and ham, ensuring even distribution.
- In a small bowl, mix panko bread crumbs, melted butter, and garlic powder. Sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the topping is browned and the casserole is bubbly.
